Who do you bring on upfront if not Gueye ? We literally have no one else.

Just go one striker and shore it up then. We were in front after all

Tbf yes we played ok in parts but their keeper literally had nothing to do, surely a concern if that’s us playing well.

iv said it a few times already but iv seen enough from gueye, taveres, de never and henriksson to never want to see them blacken the shirt again.

good few have to up their game but iv seen snippets of something that I haven’t in those mentioned

6 goals conceded in 90+ mins this season

why can’t they learn?! Why isn’t he coaching them about game management just keep the ball away from the opposition or kick it out feign injury stop play literally anything for the last couple of mins?

I'll send him a list of all the poor substitutions he has made so far this season. If I feel generous, I might also include a list of all the terrible transfer dealings.

His decision making has a consistently negative impact on the team. Terrible record, 18th place and game in hand gone.

Brings on a lightweight inexperienced winger with no clue of how to defend a lead when there are two fullbacks with much more experience of this league to choose from... Again and again.

He needs to go.

Just read what McKenna said about the clear red card. Pretty much said “it went our way tonight” even he knows it was a clear red. Just says a lot about the standards of these pathetic officials.

Rather than writing lists about referees I’d much rather Ismael tried a bit of self reflection. Of course he won’t though, Ewood is an accountability free zone from the top down. And while everything always remains someone else’s fault, and beyond their control, the best we can hope for is muddling along in the Championship.

Predictably we went to pieces late on. Why try and defend so deep with such a limited back 3? Was anyone expecting a blood and thunder performance from Tavares or Baradji to help solidify things? Why DeNeve and not a full back? Gueye was crap, but we didn’t give him much of a chance… it’s hard to close down 2 thirds of a pitch and half a team on your own. Miller spotting Cantwell’s smart run but kicking the ball like a 7 year old on a windy Blacksnape instead of sitting it up in the corner was the moment that killed us.

It's interesting that we watched the same game and I started my comment earlier saying that the lads played well, yet you haven't one positive thing to say.

Football eh?

Why would my default reaction be a positive one after yet again seeing my team chuck away a win in a way they seem to be making an art form?

We did play pretty well, not quite the performance full of 8 and 9s out of 10 that the Lancashire Telegraph suggested, but its of no consolation and I am pretty pissed off this season and fearful of what the rest of the season holds.

he must have had some dust up with pickering and ribeiro to keep bringing deneve on,sure he`s quick but thats absolutely no use if the guy has no defensive capability at all,i mean he does`nt even know when to track back

I'm all for criticising the appalling officials and credit Ismael for doing it in public. I've never understood the concept of why the officials should be protected from any criticism whilst players, managers, even fans get slated left right and centre when they conduct themselves poorly.

But I do fear that rather than this having any positive impact the clique will now have his card marked and he will be made an example of in games to come.

I'm not sure what more they can do to put their thumb on the scale in our matches. Will be interesting to see.

Eustace talked about a no excuses culture, Ismael is quite the opposite.

Tbf, he preached that mantra, but then did have a tendency to make lots of excuses.

Here he is bemoaning a penalty decision, playing 3 games in a week, and only having 48hrs to prep for a game, all in one interview. And talking about being away, if I want to nitpick. All excuses if you think about it. If you're good enough, all those things shouldn't matter.

His actions didn't always match his proclamations.

It's bizarre. We aren't trying to get a goal at that point.... We're trying to keep them out for the final 10 minutes and have solid defensive fullbacks sat on the bench. Ismael seems to prefer chaos.

Despite his poor subs I was proud of the performance tonight.

Ipswich should sack Kieran McKenna if that's the best he can do with those players at his disposal.

Just don’t make the substitution at all!

It's a long season and a ridiculous run of fixtures - you saw with Travis and Tronstad in January last year, you simply can't run the same players out there for 90 minutes every week.

Ohashi will break down pretty soon if he's not given a rest. Gudjohnsen has been targeted twice for a rest in the last two games (of the pair of them). We need another CF in January to rotate in if we're sticking with this system.

Ismael's an absolute ham shanker.

It's not referees' fault we can't defend. Or create enough chances.

One win in nine home League games. None of it down to him or his appalling recruitment I don't suppose.

The most unlikeable manager since Steve Kean by quite some distance.

McKenna left his 2 best players on the bench tonight. philogene and Nunes.

No idea why he did that as I can't see Ipswich going up any time soon.

Referee was a shit tonight. Pathetic.

Rewatched the equalizer again. While DeNeve is in the correct defensive position when the ball come to Egeli, it’s only because it took so long to find him. An earlier ball across after the lay off would have again seen him wrong side the winds player as the first man runs right by him. Mind you, like a week ago he should be fresh and be able to help cover.

then when he does press the ball he closes out with his back to Egeli a poor way to block a shot.

no idea why we don’t sub on proper defenders to see the game out instead of DeNeve. The lads complete dross

Poor form from a manager to complain about the officials. Leave that to the supporters on social. It sets a bad precedent to a team to focus on components out of your controls instead of the parts you can control. Wrong mentality.

Well I've scratched my head enough as to why De Neve is picked as sub before Pickering or Riberio, I'd now confidently put them both up top ahead of Gueye too. He is absolutely atrocious.

I'm usually one to dig out players for conceding late goals, but I'm genuinely gutted for the vast majority of them tonight who grafted for the shirt.

I would have taken either off.

As expected, lots of responses citing bad luck, an undeserved equaliser, hard luck, curses.

We need to look closer to home. We keep conceding late goals, we cant manage games. Its not hard luck if it keeps happening. And its not kids coming off the bench, its subs that we have recently bought and that Ismael has presumably endorsed.

Ismael is perfect for these owners and this board because hes a loser. His sole focus is deflection of blame and the woe is me act. Eustace talked about a no excuses culture, Ismael is quite the opposite. Reeling off refereeing decisions post match off a pre prepared list across the season.

Special mentions to De Neve and Gueye, right up there with 2 of the worst players I have seen in a Rovers shirt.

Not one positive comment about how well we played tonight.

Tonight was our best home league game performance.

If the referee had made the correct decisions like Ipswich's player not getting clear red card or penalty decision. These decisions not being made cost us the game.

Andri Gudjohnsen is starting to give me Jordan Rhodes vibes. Wasn’t really in the game today but popped up with a goal. 6 goals in his last 8 and in 14 appearances in his first season in the championship, is excellent.

Was just coming in here to make the same comment about Gudjohnson.

Jordan Rhodes 2.0, does absolutely nothing but put the ball in the net, when it arrives in the box. I don’t think I saw him win a header or a 50/50 anywhere outside of the box tonight, passing awful too. Better have a team of athletes behind him, but easy 20 goal a season finisher.

I like that Val has made those comments, it is getting ridiculous now. You can handle a few but it’s every bloody week right now. I’m most upset about the corner kick, just ridiculous.
Lads played well tonight against another strong squad. Having Cantwell back and hopefully Sonny soon changes this team. Baradji has much more to come too. I’m reasonably upbeat now, couple of wins are overdue.

Woke up and checked the score- initially thought ‘1-1 vs Ipswich, it'll do’.

Then I saw it was the second late equaliser conceded in four days….
