  1. My shout for a new centre forward: Sebastian Andersson. Available on a free after having having scored 11 in 28 for relegated Kaiserslautern (German second division) last season. 26, strong, tall, hardworking, but still with a bit of pace and not a Heskey-like lump. https://www.transfermarkt.com/sebastian-andersson/profil/spieler/147573

  2. Please could you talk about finances in a different thread it's getting a bit tedious for s transfers thread. We all know the situation! Back to transfers please

  3. Yes Chaddyrovers. Not been a season ticket holder for 6 years. In that time only been on Ewood 4 times. Been to two home games this season. Went to Doncaster and the Oxford match and liked what I saw. I like listening to TM He talks so much sense. So as I have just retired I thought why Not, and bought a season ticket yesterday...

  4. He was told if he accepted the job he would be playing Blackburn next season and took it as a racial slur.

  5. Yeah, if you saw a video of MGP's goals you'd think he was the new Eusebio.

  6. Out of all the loanees surely Anontsson is the last one we’d want to sign

  7. I look forward to you raising the standards with some BRFC-related chat.

  8. You Don't have to dig a hole for yourself by laying bare every last detail of your life history every time some one winds you up. By doing so, whilst what you say is quite correct, you come across a bit holier than thou and only encourage people to try to wind you up even further. What you do with your time and money and how you lead your life is absolutely nothing to do with anyone else and if you think a £50 p.a. rise is not a lot you're entitled to say so and for what it's worth I agree. Judging by my walk down to the ground Saturday I wouldn't mind betting many in attendance spent not too far shy of £50 on ale before and after the game. Good luck to them, it would be rude not to given the occasion and with it being a sunny Bank Holiday as well. However There's a bit of a difference in commitment in signing up for a 23 game season ticket and rocking up once a year for a promotion **** up in the sun when it's a tenner. I still Don't think the price in itself will deter people although I could be wrong. If there isn't a very decent increase in numbers following promotion then obviously the balance isn't quite right.

  9. It's the way Ewood SHOULD be imo. Blackburn End (Home) vs Darwen End (Away).

  10. Wouldn’t be too disappointed with Payne back although I feel he is a bit lightweight. see journos are trying to link antonsson with a perm here I hope that’s not the case

  11. Not yet, but strongly considering it. First one since the Hughes days. Bit of a commute from my ends but work hours settling down makes it a bit more viable nowadays.

  12. I know what you are saying but you need a good bench these days. It's a 17 man game now.

  14. Yes they have. It’s in the a/cs. The parachute money is paid to BRFC. Transfer fees are paid to BRFC. The TV money is paid to BRFC. At its simplest, our outgoings have outstripped our income for the whole of their ownership. (Outgoings would include transfer fees, wages, agents fees, advisor fees...etc). On that basis an owner either borrows money to keep trading or injects more of their own cash. If neither of those happens, the company is insolvent & soon ceases trading. Venkys have done both. This isn’t opinion, it’s maths. I’m not a Venky apologist but I do understand company accounts.

  15. She's not his wife yet Rev. Don't forget the proposal is coming shortly. I won't mention the date in case she's reading?

  16. That pr8ck. He's one of the worst. The last time he mentioned Rovers was when he declared "Venkys I'm coming to get you" on his sh*tty radio show just before chimp boy got potted. And did he do anything? Did he b&llocks.

  17. No way would in for Antonsson. He started well but has faded away following injury. Wouldn’t be too bad if he was 22 (like he looks) but at 27 he should be at his peak. I just don’t see him improving. Mowbray may need to be ruthless this Summer and not be sentimental about a L1 promotion squad.

  18. This isn't about you ...... and quite frankly I'm not interested either. This is about people who are less fortunate - something you don't seem to understand or not have any empathy for.

  21. I'd say 50/50. Dack has had a great season and players like him are few and far between. Other clubs must be interested.

  22. Good point. Id still prefer them to have just left the Darwen End open to be honest, but your alternative shows some proactivity the club seemingly lacks.

  23. If you think about it, they don’t have to move. Just get there early enough to claim a seat.

  24. I’m not too worried about the lad himself. He’ll be buzzing. It’s his agent I’m bothered about, for one, and the Bentley effect - although I’d hope Mowbray can talk him round. What I’m really concerned about is the V factor. All it would take is for a big bid from a Championship club with parachute payments. That said, I don’t think Bowyer had anyone sold over his head and Mowbray was backed last year. Everyone has a price though.

  25. Listening to Dack speak at the civic reception in town on Monday he genuinely seemed excited about playing for us in the championship next season. I also doubt a club will bid enough in this window to tempt the club to sell.If he has a good first half of the season though and we are in the bottom half come January then yeah we could receive offers that the club deem to good to turn down

  26. I find the Holloway/QPR thing strange, dont rate him at all as a manager but from the outside hes done a decent job with no money and a poor squad. If they get McLaren or similar recycled rubbish then its an odd move. Both the Ipswich and QPR jobs are not attractive ones, would be surprised if they upgraded.

  27. It might be an idea if they came up with pricing to fleece these alleged big followings like they fleece visiting fans instead of moving home fans etc and banking on numbers coming at our often lower than them ticket prices. But of course that would be inconveniencing away fans on their big day out at Ewood, can't have that, pack em in says Mike.
    1 point
  28. Not a good statement IMO; if you don’t want to inconvenience Home fans then don’t move them! There’s no obligation to roll out the red carpet and give a full Darwen end to anyone we don’t have to do that. Let’s not pretend this is the only way to avoid inconveniencing folk.

  30. Comes back to my theory from last week. I suspect that the plan moving forward is to close both upper tiers unless essential and to allocate all away clubs the entire Darwen End lower e.g. 5000 seats with more on demand if needed. Therefore if WBA and Bolton etc. only bring 3000 or so that area will still look reasonably full without needing to go upstairs. Someone in India wants to see full stands on camera so this is another step on that path.

  31. I'm sure if they'd have been clear from the outset that the rationale behind it was to save a few quid whilst condensing the home support then even those being moved would have understood the decision. I'm also sure that if they ran a scheme of relocation to a suitable designated block elsewhere it could work quite smoothly without upsetting existing season ticket holders. To now try and make out as though it is being done to help supporters because we're going into the big boys league and will get massive away followings is quite insulting. Last time we were here only PNE, Leeds and Villa filled the Darwen End (or got close to doing so). For those games the Darwen End people were moved into side stands, no problems. I also find it quite insulting that the club suddenly claim to be concerned about supporters convenience and yet you can bet when Leeds or Preston come to town with a full Darwen End the club will agree to move kick off times to 12noon to significant inconvenience to a lot of supporters.

  32. “We hope supporters can understand the rationale behind this decision" Steve, the rationale you are publically going with is nonsense . As only Leeds (though not certain) and perhaps Preston will bring over the 5,500 that can be housed in the usual away half of the lower and the whole upper tier, there wouldn't be 'constant disruption'. As I said yesterday, why not just tell the truth? You wanted to cut costs and move home fans closer together.

  33. Would be too expensive given they will only sell him for an acceptable offer. He is contracted to 2020 and PBoro always knows to get paid. For a backup player to Dack should probably look at less expensive options.

  34. https://www.rovers.co.uk/news/2018/may/darwen-end-statement/ So Waggott says the decision was purely to avoid inconveniencing home fans. He's expecting Sheffield Wednesday, Sheffield United, Leeds, Preston, Bolton, Wigan, Stoke and West Brom to all bring sufficient numbers to require more seats than the 4,000 that can be allocated in half of the Darwen End without needing to move home fans from the Darwen End. I think he might be disappointed on that front. Leeds will fill it and PNE might fancy a big day out again but other than that unless one of those are going well for promotion I don't see them bringing that many. Agreeing to noon kick offs for those games will also guarantee smaller travelling support.

  38. I’m tempted. Would be the first since Venkys appointment of Kean. Not sure though whether I’d miss too many midweek games, and rather spend the money on away trips. £50 increase to £450 doesn’t help.

  39. It’s a bit early yet for that chaddy. They’ve only been on sale two days and it is ages until the claim my seat deadline day.

  41. Funny what sticks in your mind. Apart from the wally with the brolly stuff .... The morning after we were relegated with Kiddo after the goalless draw with Utd, I went into work, emotionally fragile. A friendly, Utd colleague told me that McClaren (then Utd's number 2) waited on the touchline at the end of the game and shook the hand of every relegated Rovers player..

  42. I would have him back even as backup for Dack but not sure he is the right man to start on either side of him. Still, young, plenty of resale potential and has some Championship experience.

  44. Thank goodness for that. We might be trampled underfoot in the rush to sign him otherwise. Not done enough for me overall but did have a decent scoring run at one point. I'd let both him and Conway go and look further afield.

  47. I know one "player" who trousered a chunk and he was better at washing kits than playing football. That signing could have been a simple mistake, but I don't think I''m Myles away thinking otherwise.
