Was a great player for us in his early career but the last few seasons have seen him deteriorate quite a bit and given his wages it makes sense for him to go now.

Some of my favourite Rovers goals over the years (the 2 at Man U away when we won, volley v Fulham at home, volley away at Wigan, home league cup game v Man U to name a few) have come from him and its those I'll remember, rather than the limp displays in recent times.

I'd be sorry to see Pedersen go. I still think he has a lot to offer and certainly does far more defensive work, in terms of closing down spaces, than some of our so called flair players - watching King leave Todd Kane so exposed on Sunday for example. However, money is clearly the main issue for the club at the moment and reducing the wage bill is vital for the future well being of the club. Sadly, it is a sign of the times that smaller clubs like the Rovers are having to face the reality of reduced income streams which, with FFP, means reduced wage bills and producing more of your own players through the Academy. One suspects that Pedersen's wages will simply be used to try to stem the debt.

I genuinely respect him, good pro and always tried for Rovers.

If he is moving on hope he has found a club to move to instead of paying him off. Always thought he is a confidence player who needs reassurance and confidence building from his manager. Cant help but think he is still capable of contributing to a team but he is it seems on high wages which we cant afford. Still players left in the squad I would get rid of well before him.

I thank him for all that he has done for us as he's been a loyal servant who cares for the club. However, I think that for the last five or six seasons, his been very poor and was lucky to still be with us. The money saved on his wages will be a big help and hopefully he will find a decent club to play at.

I like Morten but right decision to let him go. Top bloke though.

He had one or two great seasons with us but to be honest has been living off those 2 seasons for quite a while now. A bang average player on a very high wage.

His set pieces have been an asset the past few seasons but in open play he has been nothing short of woeful. Now that we have a long throw expert in Spurr and a free kick specialist in Judge I don't see any need for Morten.

Maintain that he is a good player but the time is right. He needs to decide what he is and make that position his own as even though i think still has a high footballing ability i wouldn't put him in our team as i wouldn't know where to play him... For somebody that is one of our top earners that is a little disconcerting.

Poor old Peds. Being singled out because of his unknown wages.

I can accept people thinking he's not the player he was (although a lot of that just isn't true. In his early days a lot of fans were making judgements about his performances based on quite a few spectacular goals. It should have been obvious that no one could keep that up and he wasn't quite the player he was being claimed to be at that time), but I can't accept fans wanting him out because of his wages. Firstly, no one on here knows what his last annual wage was - and secondly, we can afford high wages for top players as long as the overall wage bill is under control. The argument (not talking about Peds here) that so and so isn't worth, let's say for the sake of discussion, a hundred thousand pounds a week, is bunkum, if that player contributes to a successful team and that team makes profit for the club. Rovers could pay a player a million pounds a week if the club was successful and made a profit.

Plenty of others I'd like to see shifted before MGP, with a club in ruins there are far more important things than a few thousand quid each week.

So saving 1.5 million on a squad player at "a club in ruins" is not important? Disagree on that point but of course there are players more deserving of being shown the door just that a) nobody wants them and B) nobody is likely to say "no worries - i don't want a wage for the next 1/2/3 years..)

I'm disappointed Pedersen is being eased out of the club in this way and I'm sorry to see him leave. He has always been one of my favourite players, seemed to be a genuinely pleasant chap and always gave his heart and soul to BRFC. Not many like him in the game nowadays.

It's the correct decision for both parties.

MGP's best years are behind him now and his pay is prohibitive.

High point for me was the screaming winner he hit in the cup replay against Burnley at Ewood.

Low point was the header he should have buried against Chelsea in the closing minutes of the FA Cup semi at Old Trafford that would have put us in the first FA Cup Final at the new Wembley.

I wonder why? He seems to be a nice, quiet chap ;)

He's been a good servant and Rovers have given him a very good living even after speding the last 5 years surviving on his past. But as we all know there is no sentiment in business.

Good luck MGP..............if he seriously wanted to stay he could negotiate a cheaper contract???

You obviously never saw him tackle.

Great player for a season but not really offered much other than loyalty since then. He may well have been a genuinely pleasant chap, but they don't get you promoted nor win you games. That is what we need right now.

I agree with most on here - One of my fave players over the last 5-6 years... Never seems to be injured, suspended and always up for best interests of BRFC - I know he turned down some big moves to stay with the blues in the past and was 1st to commit once we got relegated. Hope he ends his career with a bang and still gets a testimonial... Great servent of the club and would like to see him back one day in some capacity :) Good luck Morten

The guy as stolen a living over the last 2 1/2 years, 2011/12 season he nothing but pathetic game after game, our beloved leader Kean so fit to continue playing him and wouldn't sub him, should have sold him when along time ago, he's hung around last three seasons because he couldn't get a better deal anywhere else

Hopefully he goes before he blots his copybook any further. The goal against Burnley earned him a few years grace but he's contributed very little in the last few seasons. Hope he goes so he can maintain a decent reputation.

Nothing but pathetic performances? And goals and assists!

Sad to see him go, genuinely good bloke who cares for the club and has always got a bad rap from a section of the fans

His performance last season when he came on to help Morris out sums him up, he got stick from fans in that game yet Morris improved ten fold due to the work morten put in to help out

Compared to what we were we are a ruin, whether you like my term or not, we are rebuilding after years of abuse.

It's not all as simple as money in football, he's one of the best trainers has been there and bought the T-shirt. You want people like that around the club to help the kids and keep things calm when it's needed, they'll also look up to him as he's done exactly what they aspire too.

He can still do a job on the pitch for Rovers and don't underestimate his influence in the dressing room and on the training pitch.

The club is better for having Professionals like MGP here at present and there's plenty of time left to try and shift the others before letting 'positive influences' go.

A club could have signed him on a free transfer in 2010 and there were no takers, for a player with plenty of Premier League experience that speaks volumes.

If he goes then all the best to him, I don't hate him just think we should have offloaded him when he had the numerous chances to do so. The Pedersen I will remember is the one who scored on a regular basis for a season or two and put in consistent decent crosses from out wide, not the shadow of the player he has been over the past 3-4 seasons.

Would love to see him playing for my other BRFC - Brisbane Roar Football Club.

ALeague would be a great stage for MGP to play out his twilight years.

Come to Bris Peds, you know you want to!!!

Can see your thinking John, ex dingle Berisha falling over when anybody comes within 10 yards of him and Pedders taking the resulting free kicks, could work :)
