[Archived] What's tha story on Venky's being at Ewood last night?

Recommended Posts

Yeh!..lets all sit on our fookin hands pick32 and give them all a good round of applause for a sterling job.

Original question, does anyone know why the Rao's were at Ewood last night,

EIGHT pages of back biting and name calling,

for gods sake if no one knows then start another thread where you can bitch at each other.

i agree. they don't help.

the players have said so!!!

support the team, just forget about venkys and kean till the end of the season!!!

the main aim is we need to stay up!!! end of!

Why can't they win any games when there is no protest then

Aren't they used to dealing with protesters from animal rights groups and such? I'm no expert but those guys are really vociferous in their campaigns so if they can deal with them then they can deal with us.

That being said I'm in no way against the protests, just think it is worth considering.

How could they discuss any budget for next season when we don't know what division we will be in (well not officially, yet ).

Nixon is just grasping at straws again im afraid, or singing from someone else's hymn sheet again. 50 million anyone ?:blush:

The 20th May may be a fantastic opportunity to remove or deface the piccies of the Rao family.

I've been racking my brain but can't think of the significance of the date, it's my sons first birthday but they won't be invited for sure!

He was born the day before survival Sunday, I was relieved the day after he would have a premier league team to support, that was very premature

getting behind the team as the players have ask for!!!

I take it you weren't at West Brom to witness the gutless first 45 minutes that the players turned in. Perhaps we should be asking them why they can't actually play for 90 minutes or pass a ball from A to B? No doubt they would blame the fans. The truth is that these players who you want us to get behind will be off like a shot once we are relegated. Do you actually think Robinson, Hoilett, the Yak, Olsson etc are going to stick around in the Championship with Kean and the clowns from India in charge? The players who are presently next to bottom of the Premier Reserve League (something we won't be members of next season) will be our team next season. One can hardly wait to see the likes of Anderson, Morris, Blackman and Bruno up against the Clarets. Somehow I suspect that long unbeaten run against our neighbours is about to come to an end.

Pafell wrote: John Williams had constantly said the wage bill is too high and needs to be addressed. Venkys have done that. They have got rid of some of the high earners. But JW in my view did not have the heart to do it. As he knew it would damage the team. JW looked at things from the team point of view. Whereas venkys have looked at and dealt with the money side of things. Trying to get the club to cut its cloth accordingly. If that is the best you can contribute. I suggest you give up.Venkys have cut the wage bill. JW did say it needed to be done.

But Pafell there is a massive difference JW would have offloaded fringe players to take care of the money side of things and JW would have invested the money from the sales of Jones,Samba etc back in the team and would have made sure before anyone left decent replacements were identified and as many have said JW would never have cut the wage bill at the expense of our Premier League status & JW would have sacked the gimp when it was clear he is out of his depth that's the major difference.

We needed bigger protests. However typical little old Rovers folk will whinge and whine after it is too late, and of course it is always someone else's fault. GET OFF YOUR AR$ES AND RAISE THE ROOF AGAINST THESE FRAUDSTERS.

Spot on. I'll keep saying it. Lets buy up tickets for the JW Lower.

That is the reality of the situation. They will not be pushed.

There's nothing can be done so we should do nothing...........

So you admit to trying to swell numbers by mocking people, calling them spineless etc. I tell you now some of you also made threats. Such behaviour does not encourage support, it alienates them instead. I can deal with threats coming my direction. But when one of you - not saying you as an individual - but protestor - made threats towards my wife, enough was enough.

I suggest you borrow Kean's violin.

B.S.

I second that.

For people to make sense out of everything Venkys has done is utter clueless-ness.

Venkys have cut the wage bill. JW did say it needed to be done.

Yep cut the wage bill but remain competitive. NOT add to it with new and improved "purchase your loyalty" contracts for every senior player last January then realize oh what have we done and then systematically destroy the team by getting rid of not only those players but not playing players they signed cause they suddenly realized they cant or dont want to pay for them. That's a shambles.

the people making sense out of anything that has happened since Venkys took over the club or Coco was given his role are a sandwich short of a picnic and we all know who those posters are - but when you call these posters you get shot down as childish , etc for speaking the truth !

The truth hurts Venkys have done nothing for the club just took out , gagged , sold on , etc , etc

Coco just lies , lies and lies

Agnew, Hunt , spin , spin and more spin...

The problem is most fans are apathetic now. They may moan and nag but are not willing to do anything to change the situation. Im not saying we CAN succeed on that front but when we have only a few hundred fans out of the 15k-18k home crowd willing to even try to make a stand, then we deserve them coming into our home and peeing all over the furniture.

Pafell, couldn't put it more succinctly myself. Those days we enjoyed being a club, a band of supporters and when we had success like mid 70.s and early 80s then it all seemed worthwhile. I for one will support my team regardless of who owns it or who the manager is. What is important is being a fan of my team.

Too many have been brought up on the Premiership ideal, well we shall see who the 'real' supporters are when there is no premiership and no superstars, just a team who want to play for the club and fans who want to support the club.

I think most fans would be happy if we get a team that want to play for the club, with no superstars and games against Oldham, Barnsley etc...provided they felt the club was part of the community again with a board that listened and a manager that respected the public.

I had a season ticket during the 80's and travelled to a lot of away games, the players gave a damn and the board/management were passionate, if skint!

It simply isn't like that anymore. When we have a team that want to play for the club and a manager capable of the name. Then I will happily return to watch Rovers whether that be in the championship or Conference.

'Real fan?' probably not in your eyes but there are a lot of supporters that feel the same.

Very simiplistic riverside returns.

The people I know giving up Ive seen all over the country, in Europe, at youth games, decked head to toe in Rovers gear. Folk who were there in the days of Iley, or when Saxton had to fish balls from the River Darwen.

We lose 10000 STholders I'll be devestated, but it sure as hell won't be because of 'spoilt fans'

Spot on Matty, a massive proportion of those giving up their season tickets are die-hard Rovers fans and have the club in their blood. It is absolutely tragic that Venky's have destroyed the club to the point where even these kind of people don't feel they can commit to it any more.

Some good quality rough and ready footy and fans. Wasn't good footy but it was honest and players would have a beer and socialise with you and it was real.
