JHRover
Surprising efficiency here for a club that is usually last minute on these things. Decent looking fixture nonetheless
chaddyrovers
Hoping for a home game on the 22/23 of July tbh.
Oldgregg86
Absolutely buzzing with this having not been able to go to the game in Europe . Genuinely can’t wait 😁
oldjamfan1
Fantastic that Rovers are coming back to Glasgow, saves me the usual 6 hour round trip! We won at Celtic Park the last time we played there, and should have also won the time before that. This will be about the 5th or 6th time I’ve seen Rovers play Celtic, my sons are season ticket holders there so it should be an interesting day, and I hope whoever the manager is plays to win 😉✊🏻
SIMON GARNERS 194
Should see a fair few thousand making the journey.
rigger
I checked out prices of hotels in Glasgow. The prices have shot up since the Rangers pre season friendly.

Gerry Cinnamon is playing a gig at Hampden the night we play Celtic so that could be something to do with the high prices.

JHRover
Think there are engineering works on the main line. Or at least a risk of them that weekend. Probably won't know for sure until a couple of weeks before.

JHRover
I've booked trains but am wary that I'll have to check nearer the time, cba with a bus replacement service.

RoversClitheroe
So looks like Hartlepool in the friendlies, assuming that's Tony Mowbrays next job.

superniko
The Open (Golf) is on in St Andrews that weekend too. Obviously it's a bit away from Glasgow but given there will be thousands travelling for that, some might be choosing the big cities to stay in. Feels a long time since we had a trip abroad for pre-season (Scotland doesn't count!) - I was hoping even for one to Ireland.

The centre of Glasgow is roughly 2 hours away from St Andrews, probably even longer than that during the Open with the heavy traffic on the A91. Dundee, Edinburgh, Perth and Stirling are more likely venues for hotels for those going to the home of Golf, I would say.

Nearest I could get for the practice day (going with my dad) was a Holiday Inn in Dundee 18miles away 🤣

arbitro
Stanley have announced they are playing four home friendlies against as yet unnamed Championship opponents. Hopefully one of them is us for what was in the recent past a regular pre-season fixture.
