Championship fixtures: Vincent Kompany's Burnley start at Huddersfield Town - BBC Sport

I know it's illegal for a Blackburnian to feel sympathy for that mob, but I hate how the media bang on about Lampard's Everton, Rooney's Derby, Gerrard's Rangers, and now Kompany's Burnley. They don't own them; they've been around for decades long before and hopefully long after whichever hired hand disappears again. Have some respect for the club's heritage, history and fanbase for crying out loud.

That says more about the media's impression of the IQ of the average football fan, imo. It's (quite) interesting that we're not being seen as "Tomasson's Rovers". Guess that's because JDT only played 1 season in the Premier League.

Still, I'd prefer us to go under the radar initially, rather than crash & burn, like our neighbours to the east.

Goal posts moved on Accrington friendly now two sixty minute games

I quite like the idea myself. It gives Rovers and Stanley a great opportunity to look at lots of players and formations, it's perfect for the players to have an hour of decent intensity given it's the first game and as spectators we get excellent value for money.ย

Great thinking from JDT, can you imagine Mowbray coming up with something so novel. ๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚

Iโ€™m sure we did something similar a few years back, away at Morecambe or Fleetwood, from memory

We did at Morecambe when we played them and Stanley but they were both full games of 90 minutes. One memory of that day was the excellence of the Morecambe catering. Knowing fans would be there for around four hours they had a great choice including pasta.ย

Iโ€™m surprised thereโ€™s still 600 tickets left for Stanley thought would have easily sold out the 2,300 allocation by now particularly as itโ€™s JDTs first game.ย

Maybe because it is a pre-season friendly.

I think we sold our original allocation and asked for more. Stanley put out a message for any of their fan's who had bought tickets in two blocks of the Studio Stand to contact them and be relocated to another part of the ground. As the game is two weeks away and JDT's first I would expect us to sell out. I have actually bought tickets through Stanley and would expect other Rovers fans to do the same.

Yeah same Mark, I'm the equivalent of Southport as far as the tide goes, and have been since I was 19ย ๐Ÿ˜ฎ๐Ÿ˜‚
