Looks like Appleton has rejected the WBA job to stay at Lincoln to finish the job there. Source is Sky Sports reporter Rob Dorsett.

He's probably thinking he's got the Lincoln job for a few years if he wants to stay there and if he goes to WBA and doesnt get them back up quickly he'd be back out of a job in 18 months time.

depends on what the WBA budget would be and who has final say on transfers with a sporting director Luke Dowling there. Plus who is advising the owner and his team

Luke Dowling left West Brom today

Yes surprised by this news considering that he has been running the head coach search and it appears that his suggestions have been ignored by the owner. So its looks like they part ways based on that from what I read yesterday, Don't know who is advising the owner or the CEO. Could be agent I guess

If Parker was from Blackburn, played for Bolton and Wigan and wore a tracksuit on matchdays he would have a very different reputation in the game.

Not long since he was being linked by the media to the Spurs job. London based, ex Chelsea, Spurs and West Ham and wears fancy clothes so he's sorted. Not sure what the fuss is about, he should have got Fulham up with that squad.

Derby told to re-submit the last 3 years accounts. Could be relegated and Wycombe re-instated.

We will be lucky to only have a transfer embargo.

Interesting but I fail to see how this happens in the timescale available. We've got 6 weeks until kick off day. During that time Derby now have to submit amended accounts, the League need time to scrutinise them, then if they feel Derby are guilty of wrongdoing they will have to charge them and then go through the disciplinary process to determine a sanction, and then if that is a points deduction for last season (relegation) then of course Derby will launch an appeal.

Dealing with all that will take more than 6 weeks.

I expect the League to wobble and try to impose a points deduction on next season instead. I just hope Wycombe have lawyers at the ready.

Re the EFL/Derby article, what does the following mean in layman's terms:-

More specifically, the panel determined that the Club’s policy was not in accordance with accounting standard FRS102 because it failed to accurately reflect the manner in which the Club takes the benefit of player registrations over the lifetime of a player’s contract.

Under the present management and considering form over the last 20 or so games, 2 points max looking at that list I reckon.

Eek.

Form from a previous season has no bearing whatsoever, I would be targetting 9 points from those first five fixtures.
