First name on the team sheet very week. How Mogga adjusts his team to accommodate him is the interesting bit. Maybe we will go 4-2-3-1 again but with Dack a bit deeper than he used to play? That's the way I see it , same formation as now with Dack the most advanced of the midfield three. Could do with his timed arrivals in the box and finishing, no other player is offering us this. Its all about covering the pitch effectively though, the 433 has been at its best with Rothwell and Holtby either side of Johnson as they cover loads of ground. When you only have 3 I'm the middle your workrate needs to be exceptional and they have provided that. When we switched to two sitters with Evans and Trybull and Buckley in the hole the 433 for a game or two the formation lost its dynanism as the two sitters just didn't cover the ground. Midfield just got bypassed. Think the same sort of thing could happen with Dack if we try and put him in the hole. Suddenly you need two sitters and it messes with the balance. Reckon if Dack does play in the midfield it will probably be a straight swap for Holtby. Rothwell is just so good carrying the ball from deep you can't really drop him. Shame though as Holtby is class. And then also we've got to find somewhere for Travis to fit in.... Obviously could drop Johnson but he has been excellent. When everyone's fit we have really good midfield and attacking options for this level... It's been a long time since we've been able to say that. Just need the injury list to be less ludicrous..... philipl 7032
I just want Dack back at least as good as he was before the injury. In this benighted season, odds are there won't be a selection problem fitting him in because of covid/injuries/suspension unavailabilities.

LeftWinger 1226
Kaminski Nyambe Lenihan Ayala Douglas Rothwell Travis Elliot Dack Brereton Armstrong Maybe Johnson over Rothwell if we are against a better side.

Rothwell tough enough to play there? I don't want to be over-cautious but that side looks too attacking for me! Shudder to think of TM" reaction!

That is a team, can't wait for Dacky to be back ? If we can keep everyone fit/Covid free, and Mowbray completely changes his ethos and vastly improves his managerial capability, we may have a shot at the play-offs. DavidMailsTightPerm 1287
You have to laugh - all the different formations to accommodate Dack - and TM is accused of being the tinkerman ? How (and if) we accommodate Dack into the first team is likely to have a significant impact on the season. One thing is certain - having him as an option on the bench when after a goal is better than anything we currently have. You need more than one player who can put a tackle in beyond the back four. If you don't the opposition can easily isolate them and get them an early card. Then you have problems. Liverpool played with Henderson and Wijnaldum in midfield against City - with Jota, Firmino, Salah and Mane in front of them. I'm not saying we have the same standard of players as those 6, but at the same time, we're not up against Man City.
roversfan99 8588
Exactly, Liverpool had both Wijnaldum and Henderson, both of whom are very responsible and selfless players. Rothwell cant play in a central 2.

According to the Premier League website: Played 187 Tackles 205 Tackle success 67% Compared to Rothwell last season Starts 13 (+ 20 sub appearances) (1747 minutes on the pitch) Tackles 37 Tackle success 76% So Rothwell actually attempts and wins more tackles than Wijnaldum. Liverpool's possession is generally gained through pressing and forcing a mistake. I'm not sure a tackling stat is a good one in their case.
roversfan99 8588
Rovers have been silent on Dacks first week back in full training apart from a 5 second video of him kicking a ball into an empty net on Monday. Wonder if everything has gone to plan?

Saw that this morning but it seems that all information and interviews through the international break where gathered prior and just staggered out to fill articles. I hope that as you say he has had no setbacks and he can play a game this week.

Reducing the amount of people onsite, bit of a break in the players being in. Just a hypothesis though.
