The Mighty Chaffinch Posted February 1, 2021 Posted February 1, 2021 I’m always very suspicious (and a bit superstitious) about certain manufacturers. I’m no fan of Macron as I associate them with failure...specifically Bolton but I can’t think of too many teams who have thrived when donning their shirts. A bit primary school second XI for me. I would relish the return of ASICS and I rate two of their shirts as my all time favourites: 92-94 and 96-98. I understand the mood surrounding an Adidas catalogue kit however I have always wanted to see Rovers run out with the three stripes on the arms...preferably reversed on each side. I’ve got a Grasshoppers Zurich kit of that ilk stashed away in the garage somewhere. I think some posters are being a bit harsh on Umbro though. I think they produce solid kits with decent trim. As always though, a bit of fan participation in the kit consultation process wouldn’t go amiss. Pigs might fly first 1 Quote

Herbie6590 Posted February 1, 2021 Posted February 1, 2021 Puma is more likely than adidas I suspect...this is virtually the Nike one from the Jordan Rhodes era... 3 Quote

Cuppliance Posted February 1, 2021 Posted February 1, 2021 I’ve seen some very creative kits from puma in the past. I was always a fan of the 2003-04 Fulham home kit. The Tottenham puma kits looked smart too. I’d be optimistic for a Rovers puma kit. Quote

Moderation Lead K-Hod Posted February 2, 2021 Moderation Lead Posted February 2, 2021 Must admit, I do love Adidas, just not for football kits. However, if they brought back the originals logo, I’d definitely be well into that! 1 Quote
Bigdoggsteel Posted February 2, 2021 Posted February 2, 2021 Kappa for me. Love their kits. Asics would also be a nice return. Adidas or Nike is just going to lead to something formulaic and bland I fear Quote
RoversClitheroe Posted February 5, 2021 Posted February 5, 2021 Someone on here definitely knows who we have gone for, cmon someone tell us. Quote
only2garners Posted February 5, 2021 Posted February 5, 2021 I know the deal is done but have no idea who with. Quote
EwoodGlory Posted February 5, 2021 Posted February 5, 2021 Recoverite might be able to manufacture kits, if they fancy a move into the market? Quote
TheRovers1994 Posted February 9, 2021 Posted February 9, 2021 Nike, puma, umbro, addidas are the same with catalogues even hummel have gone that way, wanna see kappa who's kits and training gear is class back or go with someone smaller who will make more effort with designs Quote
Gordon Gekko Posted March 29, 2021 Posted March 29, 2021 Any word on who the new kit manufacturer will be yet? Quote

JHRover Posted March 29, 2021 Posted March 29, 2021 We're the sort of club with a hollowed out commercial and marketing department that would sit back and wait for manufacturers to come to us and then pick the easiest and cheapest one, rather than go out into the big wide world of kit suppliers, bringing in a lucrative or impressive deal with an interesting brand or someone with new designs or ideas. So it will be stock Umbro, Nike or Adidas and £50 for a pair of catalogue tracksuit bottoms or t shirt with a Rovers badge printed/sewn on. Limited stock only so popular items are out of stock well before Xmas with none further to come. 2 Quote
Guest Posted March 29, 2021 Posted March 29, 2021 Kit deal is sorted and designs are done. Haven't seen any credible rumours about who it is. Quote

Dreams of 1995 Posted March 30, 2021 Posted March 30, 2021 I wouldn’t mind Hummel to be honest, if someone said that as a joke! I don’t want Nike or Adidas because they design generic kits for teams like us. A smaller designer would be far better, someone who will put some thought into the kit. I would like to try New Balance as they produced a great kit for Liverpool before they pulled a fast one! Umbro have made some nice kits for us imo but always made an error on the away strip although have grown to quite like the current red and blue version. Bring Kappa on for me. Their kits were bloody good. Quote
Trinidad Rover Posted March 30, 2021 Posted March 30, 2021 I wouldn’t be surprised if it’s Castore Quote
