I thought Batty was a left back.

More of a wing-back for me. Batty would be better suited to three center-halves and two wing-backs.

That was what I thought, that's why I said two LBs on the bench. But Rigger seems to disagree. LT pre-match comments are calling him a LB too. This better not be some inane LB/LWB pedantry....

Teams out :

                        Pears

JRC.    Phillips.   Wharton.   Edun

             Morton     A Wharton

.  Markanday.   Dack.        Dolan

                            Vale

Good team, will be interesting to see how they do.

Shame I can't make it tonight.

Lovely evening and Pears and JRC apart I REALLY like the look of that team!

Hope they tear Hartlepool a new one.

I am not exactly sure what you mean by the highlighted. But I think there is a massive difference between playing full-back and playing wing-back.

Love the starting X1.
Our squad is still paper thin with some real tough games coming up, so wrap them all in cotton wool (double helpings for Ayala) and give them the night off.
Give all the young lads (and I include Markanday in this) a chance for a good competitive outing against a hardened lower league team. Would hope that JDT's message is to show him what he's got and give him a selection problem on Saturday.

Also loving that Dack is back in as captain, it underlines his importance still in this squad and the indication that he still has a part to play in the first team if he gets back fully fit and gains full match sharpness.

Anybody know where radio coverage can be listened to without paying?

Would also appreciate this! Can't find anything ?

Why no streaming options for people abroad in the cup, surely it's easy money?

Quality reporting from BBC. Doubt even Mowbray would go with this.

Haha I was trying to screenshot the same thing. I don't know...I wouldn't have put it past Melton Mowbray. Fuck I'm glad he's gone

Of the subs, only Pickering is a left-back.

Louie's played there for the U23s on occasion and last summer in a couple of pre-season friendlies for the first team. Wouldn't put him there by choice but he's done it when needed.

Abroad you can listen to it on the Rovers website. Sure it costs some money if you don't have a season subscription

I have a subscription but prefer to read the text on BBC than listen to the commentary 🤣
