Heard yesterday that Sorba Thomas has created the most chances in the league? If we stay up, I’d definitely have him back…He’s has the pace and power we lack.

According to Fotmob.com, this is correct.

More telling is that the first Rovers player to enter that list is Szmodics in 39th place. Whom we are likely to be flogging at the first opportunity.

A 1 man team and we are taking the 1 out.

Think it's so galling when you look at the players we have recently lost for either nothing or for not their true worth.

All gone for nowt BBD, Rothwell and Lenihan - close on £20million with 'clued-up' management.

Palace really pulled our pants down over Wharton.  Months and months ago, I posted we should get at least what Brum got from Dortmund for Bellingham (£25million plus add ons) and that was 4 years ago.

Also, still far from convinced we managed Phillips' contractual situation optimally.

As for Broughton's signings, think only Sammie has hit the mark.

Disasters include Mola, Hirst (at least for us), Wahlstedt, Ennis, Telalovic and Fleck.

Those who have made little or no impact Morton, Thomas, Moran, Ayari, Koumetio and O'Riordan  (we have the 3rd worse defensive record in the league having conceded 74 goals and the lad can't even get a look in - wtf is that about?!)

Average signings Hyam and Brittain (think both have shown their true colours this season and in my book not the characters you want to build your team around), Sigurdsson (flatters to deceive), Tronstad (a steady Eddie but better than Travis?) and McFadzean (the barrel was empty).

Whether we have money to spend in the summer or not, I really worry about the capabilities of Broughton and our recruitment team - IMO, their record is pretty dismal.

Agree Mercer. I’ve zero confidence in Boughton actually bringing in the quality for us to get to the heady heights of mid table!

He’s had three windows (I think) and apart from the extremely well publicised fuck ups I don’t think he’s actually bought any real quality in. Maybe he gets credit for Tronstad but that’s probably about it.

We don’t just need one or two in the summer. We need 4 or 5 starters at a minimum.

You also have to look at the bigger picture with Szmodics.

This season his goals are likely to be the only reason we don't end up in League One, costing the club upwards of £10 million and then some.

If we ain't spending in the summer, and we probably ain't, then someone somewhere has to balance potential relegation against a tidy profit on Szmodics.

Selling him might be pats on the back in the directors box but medium term sees our Championship status go up in smoke.

Of course there's never any accountability or recognition of this at the club. Never any acknowledgment that management and transfer decisions ultimately impact on the club and finances down the line.

Dembele is the one for me…Got a feeling another champ team will snap him up though…If the rumours of us being linked with him last season were true, you’d like to think GB would revisit him.

He's probably not the man to run the club on a negative transfer budget and wage budget (which is what he's been asked to do) but to be fair those Directors of Football are as rare as hen's teeth.

No because the Indian court case is late August.

We won't spend until that is resolved because otherwise the Wharton / Raya money will simply be used to keep the lights on.

What we could really do with to kick off a squad rebuild quickly and proactively and to put us at an advantage to most other Championship clubs is a big pile of guaranteed cash coming in from sales. Money that will enable us to pay what is needed to beat other clubs to signatures of good players and money we aren't waiting on things to fall into place to get.

If Alan Nixon bothers you so much with his article why search and read for articles. Just don't read them. you remind me of people watching what on TV instead of just turn the channel over

Clubs will be interested in him but clubs have to reach our asking price. Szmodics is in peak and has scored 31 goals this season. so asking price of £15 to 20m isn't wrong is it?

If someone offers £15m for Szmodics you'd be mad not to sell.

I think someone will offer £8m and we'll hurry him out the door.

if we set that valuation on him then we won't shift from that.

I would be looking Reading players Femi Azeez and Harvey Knibbs

I thought he was really poor for us, but maybe he just didn't fit our system.

When I've seen him play for Huddersfield he just seems to get his head down and whip balls into the box. Admittedly we only had Gallagher in the box for him to aim at, but he rarely did that for us.

Fact that of all the players signed in the last 3 windows, Tronstad is the only starter when everyone is fit is absolutely criminal and a sackable offence by Broughton on its own. I’m certain that there won’t be another club in the country whose recruitment has been worse over the period.

Maybe sign a good striker or 2 where Thomas can get the ball in the box quicker and we can score.

We need 2 strikers signings in the summer

It says in the fans forum minutes, the court hearing doesn’t affect the club.

But I thought once a Premier League team comes in there’s nothing you can do to keep a player who wants to move. Cos that’s what you’ve said about Kaminski all season.

IMO, there is no one at Rovers with a feckin clue about valuations or how to manage these situations.

Wharton out the door for an absurdly relatively low price.  Feck me, Bristol City got £25million for Alex Scott who will never ever be the player Wharton is now or will become.  It was clear from a very early stage (remember the game at Blackpool) that Wharton was a very special talent.

Folk running Rovers are the same who fecked up badly on Lenihan, Rothwell and BBD who went for the square root of feck all.

It all makes my blood boil.

Think it's certain Sammie will leave irrespective of any posturing from Rovers or fanciful Nixon numbers.  If he wants out then he will go - he's now at his peak footballing wise and earnings' potential wise and I think it would be madness for him to stay here.

Wake up Chaddy and smell the coffee because I think recent history has shown the summer window will be as shambolic, or even more shambolic, than recent windows.

Reading your 'wish list' for signings is like reading my grandchildren's letters to Father Christmas.  Get real.

and if you remember rightly we didn't accept their first bid but waiting till we got their asking price we wanted. same with other players like Wharton and BBD cos we rejected 3 bids that didn't meet our asking price
