Seems Rovers want £5m for Lenihan... also trying to get Bogle in. Also Lambert back in the frame...need backup for Graham.

Bogle's an interesting one, would be excellent back up, but you'd have thought he'd be able to get a starting spot somewhere no problem.

Would be happy with both as extra bodies, but still worried about a lack of pace. Lot's of pressure on Samuel if we go in with a strike force of Graham, Samuel and Bogle/Lambert.

Neophox to be fair is usually pretty reliable. Is that you in the picture Brian Sol?

Thanks, peer validation is good enough for me ;)

Yes, that's me. Been following Rovers since 1990 and now being older than all the active players :rover:

Not seen him play since Rovers' Academy some 10 years ago.

His track record is underwhelming to say the least and it seems he's been without a club for the last 12 months.  Just 130 'competitive' games in 9 years (since leaving Rovers), and in the back of beyond, says it all to me.

An intet sting career to say the least. Seemed to get on well in the A-league. Would that be comparative to league 1 I wonder? Probably not. Twelve months without a club is concerning alright. Still on  a free, nothing to lose.

New keeper signed

Welcome to Rovers, Jayson Leutwiler ?⚪️ #WelcomeLeutwiler Read more ➡️ https://t.co/EJApBXORaF https://t.co/kzNMSocPLA

Didnt see one single link to this player so Mowbray has kept it under the radar..tight working group

The 28-year-old previously worked with Mowbray at Boro. Made 140 appearances for Shrewsbury, including 50 last season.

If we got Bogle, he would be way ahead of Samuel for me.  The young lad has talent but a lot to prove.

Oh gosh new keeper likely number 2, left out of Shrews squad (not wanted by manager). Ex Mowbray signing. Some recruitment happening.

He is a league 1 keeper and has been their number 1 for 3 seasons, 50 games last season for them. Looks like a solid number 2. Now onto the forward and defender.

Interview with him February 2015, when he had most clean sheets in Europe. Says the success is down to good communications with defenders. Also prefers to punch the ball rather than hold (bit like Steele unfortunatly)

Their local Journo and some fans seem to rate him https://twitter.com/LewisCox_star

Can't be that bad as the manager picked him 49 times last season.  Seems a decent enough back up looking at his stats.

A nice stat to pick out from his wikipedia page: It was documented in February 2015 that Leutwiler had kept more clean sheets that season than any goalkeeper in Europe, 20 in 39 matches.[12][13] Leutwiler broke the club record for most clean sheets in a league season, after keeping his 22nd clean sheet in a home match against York City,[14][15] before clinching promotion to League One the following weekend with a 1–0 away victory at Cheltenham Town

Not bad at all. The goals are the same size in every league after all.

Our new  No.1, I'd like to bet.

Mowbray won't want a keeper thrust on him by default. This will be his goalie (in my opinion)

Raya is no. 1 and will be first choice until he cocks up. Not a chance Mowbray has signed a keeper deemed not good enough for Shrewsbury as his no. 1.

This can take two forms though.

1) That Venkys want to sell Lenihan for £5 million

2) That Lenihan isn't for sale and we are desperate to keep him but that a bid of £5 million+ would tempt us into selling him

If it is the 2nd option then I'd be confident Lenihan will be going nowhere, as I can't see anyone going to that level for him at this stage.

If it is the 1st option then expect a Gestede style pantomime to continue throughout August with repeated 'rumours' of Venkys demanding big money only to then suddenly reduce their asking price by a couple of million late on and the sale gets done in late August leaving us in a mess.

He's for sale alright for as close to 5M as Venkys can get, no matter how late in the transfer window it happens and, hey presto, that's transfers paid for and something left over for Balaji. As for the team----doesn't matter.

They seem to rate him, looks to be a decent no. 2. Glad Raya is now our definite no. 1, he deserves it.

I've just read a few posts on there and have to say I'm a little concerned.

Clearly signed as back up.

Lenihan is a good defender, but 5million would be far too good to turn down. We could buy a whole New back 4 with that kind of money

Point is itll almost certainly be too late to buy even 1 let alone 4
