Hope I’m wrong but could see JDT walking if he doesn’t get players in. There is tension  there. The term hung out to dry applicable.

And this Greg won’t talk till after the window closes is grade A horse sh*t!

I assume you've not been watching the games?

We lined up with 3 at the back today (Pickering at LCB and Edun at LWB) - on Wednesday we ran out in our 4-2-3-1. Obviously we've also tried different philosophies - against Swansea and Sheffield Utd we tried to absorb the attack and hit them on the counter.

We simply don't have the players to compete 3 times a week at this level - there's probably 7 really good First XI players in the squad - so we need 4 really good First XI players bringing in at a minimum. If we can get into a situation where the likes of Pickering, Hedges, Gallagher et al are squad players rather than nailed on starters we'll be ok.

At the end of the day this is a long-term project. Mowbray has left JDT and Broughton holding the bag after years of mismanagement.

I don't disagree I'm just saying I want to see a reaction. We've switched from having Mowbray as the head honcho to having JDT and Broughton and to a lesser extent Remi as a package. They as a collective need to show they've got the nous.

Looking at the fixture list over the next 15 games till Burnley they've got to show they can win ugly against physical experienced teams. Part of that is players, but also under resourced teams need to be well setup to grind our results with what they have. They collectively need to show that.

Certainly grinder out at WBA and Swans. The issue with depth is highlighted by the fact we had 2 senior center halves to start the season 1 and his replacement is out injured. So we’re relying on a 17 year old amatory on a scholarship to play the last 4 matches.  We have no senior reserve player at right back. Our left back is best suited to be a reserve. Playing our false 9 from last year as an 8.  Hopefully the youth players will grow but this yea the current squad is like far from a championship quality side.

i thought jdt`s tactics were naive, did he expect sheff utd to let us pass through them, that said,he was let down by buckley going missing again, edun not being good enough to play at this level and szmodic having a mare, got to adjust from now on ,we`ve been found out,new players and new shape required

Buckley and Travis have both been poor in the last two matches. I wonder if part of the reason is Ash. Certainly it would be wise to sit deeper to help provide cover, but also he is not yet ready or willing to play the ball forward. Everything is safe, sideways and backwards. Not unexpected since he’s 17, but a fact that his game defensively is much more advanced that his technical ability. In fact today there was a foul, he jogged over to the ball, tried to play it to Kamenski and missed him by about 10 yards. It’s difficult to get involved when the back line can’t or won’t even attempt to play the ball into you.

phillips did nothing wrong,we were overrun in midfield, partly because edun is`nt up to the task, szmodic had a shocker and buckley went awol, travis was ok tbh, this playing out from the back and through midfield is`nt working,we can`t build up any momentum cos the ball keeps coming back at us,you have to have better players to do what we are attempting

We have a team full of midgets

The previous imposter manager set us down that circus route and the current lot are continuing it.

I am still struggling to understand the sheer bullshit JDT spouted when asked about why he hadn't used Dack.

If I had been interviewing him I would have asked "Jon, wtf are you on about".

Just look at when and what subs* we made, what the score was, how much time was left to see through this utter tripe.

He needs to engage his brain before running his mouth.

If he just doesn't rate Dack then he needs to do something about it as what is happening is an insult to Dack but much more importantly an insult to my (our) intelligence.

Yes, my doubts about smiler are mounting but I never had a boner in the first place.

Big week on the training ground to stop the rot setting in I feel. Two woeful performances that are on a par if not worse then Mowbray’s worst.

There seems to have been a fundamental breakdown in the tactics last 2 games. The high intensity pressing has gone and the overall positioning of players when we have the ball too.
All that leads to is a quick turnover of possession back to the opposition as the gaps between defence, midfield and attack are so big you could drive a cruise ship through them. Ayala and Pickering aren’t going to launch accurate 60 yard passes every time they need a couple of short options and players making themselves available.

I hate to say it but the last two games a lot of players have gone into hiding and need to take a long hard look at themselves. Particularly the front 3 and Buckley.

I don't get it either. History suggests that fast and physical gives you a shout in the  championship.  I haven't seen a side tippy tap it's way out.

Honeymoon period now a distant,  happy memory.  The last two games we haven't only been soundly beaten, we haven't even laid a glove on Reading or Sheff U.  Yesterday could easily have been 5, 6, 7 but for Kaminski.  An absolute mess.

I sat watching it and I just could not see a game plan all.  There seemed to be absolutely no cohesion, no patterns of play,  no identity, no idea.

Seriously worried about Szmodics - I don't know what he brings as a player for us to have paid a fair chunk of our budget.  Works hard...  That's all I've seen so far. Can't see him having a big impact at all.  Dack can't be fit - if JDT has made his mind up on him that's another big warning sign for me.

Yes, we need players but if that's an indication of where we're shopping then these signings aren't guaranteed to solve all of our problems.

Big two weeks until the international break.  This group must restore some confience - I'm suddenly very,  very nervous.

Ayala was absolutely fuming multiple times yesterday, I can guarantee he's gonna get 'injured' soon if he doesn't get some better defenders around him.

I honestly think we need a home game now and can see us winning the next few.

Losing to Bradford would do a lot of damage though I feel, we need to take that one seriously and bang a few in.

I’d kill for a couple of average players right now. They’d certainly be a marked improvement on our bad ones.

Not what we need is average players but quality players who will improve the team but also get a boost to the squad and its morale which look low after yesterday game.

The difference between the two teams yesterday was summed up by one substitution. Berge, who I think is the best player in the Championship was replaced by Brewster, a £25m player. We brought Dolan and Morton on. A freebie from Nobbers and PL loan player.

I expected to lose yesterday so I shrugged my shoulders at the final whistle. I was infinitely more disappointed at Reading on Wednesday.

Restricting us to 0.09 sounds pretty bad for us. (Although I don't really understand xG all that much)

We could have played til Christmas in the matches against Reading and Sheff Utd and still not come close to scoring. Sure we’re lacking personnel and bodies big time - but the tactics need a serious overhaul too.

It was a strange day yesterday for many reasons and none of them football related.

I have my first vegetarian Full English here:

https://vorvsheffield.co.uk/

Absolutely spot on to be honest and I didn't spend the next 3hrs feeling like I'd just downed a full bottle of vegetable oil, I'll be going back. Then is was on to a Sheffield institution https://www.thefatcat.co.uk/ where we sat in the sun dreaming of 3 points as a steady stream of real ale Rovers fans passed through, the secret of The Fat Cat is clearly out.

We jumped into an Uber at 2.15pm and were dropped at the big roundabout close to Bramall Lane. That coincided with the noisy and vociferous Rovers contingent, that had come on the train, exiting from the underpass with heavy police escort who looked scared to death to be honest. As we all walked up towards the cricketers pubs a couple of blades fans (50yrs+) rushed the escort, punches flew, coppers helmets went flying, it was over very quickly, police on top, blades fans 0 Police 2.

After the customary police sniffer dog and pat down we took our seats and hope was high, lovely day for football, a packed Bramall Lane looking a picture, 1500 Rovers in great voice, then the match started...........

That performance yesterday was the worst I've seen away from home in a very long time. Sam Gallagher was our best defender in the first half, he never missed a clearing header, he also never crossed the halfway line more than a couple of times, thats the amount of pressure we found ourselves under. The second half was much of the same, men against boys, I don't think we had a shot on goal all match, dire stuff. Sheff Utd are a good side, they'll be in the mix come next May, but we never laid a finger of them in 90 minutes and its extremely worrying.

Yesterday and Reading in mid-week, we looked like is a side staring at relegation, even at this early junction, we need 3/4 quality additions or we're in dire straights. I don't blame the manager, he's working under the same restrictions as the last manager, with no money and a worse squad than last season, worrying time indeed, this squad is relegation fodder.

After the game it was back to Kelham Island, cider, beer, margarita? I think.......... and Boa here https://www.thisissheffield.com/food-and-drink/salt-sheffield/ another first, what is Boa? Japanese steamed buns filled with chicken in my case, lovely, the vegetarian adventure was fine, but I needed meat to even things out...

I'll be keeping the faith, for now, onwards and upwards.

That to me is more than just a lack of players thing. That's appalling. JDT needs to be pragmatic - if he hasn't got the players to play his high-pressing, sexy attacking football blah blah, then he needs to set up with what he's got to win matches.

Watched it a few times. Still no idea what he means right at the end when he gives his reasons for not bringing on Dack. Very, very odd. it's as if he's saying playing with Dack is like playing with 10 men.

I heard it as though he didn't want to make the final sub incase he did, and then someone got injured so we would have to play with 10 men.

Pretty obvious he isn't saying playing Dack is like playing with 10.

So he'll never make the final sub in case someone else gets injured. Even more bizarre than I thought it was.
