What he’s put in a great shift. Head and shoulders above some of that out there. I’ll accept criticism where it’s due. You only get a foul if you have the ball. So if you mean he’s been involved in the right areas then yeah your right.8 points

Hopefully that will be the last we see of Evans in a Rovers shirt. He's been stealing a living of this club for 7 years.8 points

Still confusing seeing people post line ups with Gallagher on the wing. Unless you’re trying to predict what Mowbray May do, you must have seen that it simply doesn’t work by now?8 points

Desperately disappointing to lose tonight, however well we may have played. The bottom line though, 6 games, 3 defeats and 2 defeats in a row. Whatever the situation, we need to turn things around and quickly. That includes picking our best players and not relying on players who have let us down time and again any more.7 points

We lost 3-1. Years of watching football has taught me that playing well and losing is a very bad sign. Performances don’t win games but tactical nous does. We will never get anywhere under this manager7 points

Arma's scored more than almost anyone in the football league in 2020. Some people on here's memories/judgment is laughable.7 points

Might not be a popular opinion and don’t get me wrong I do like the guy. He gave me his shirt in Austria before he didn’t pay the taxi driver and ended up in the nick but he did come across as a bit of a man child. We’re about the same age but he didn’t seem very professional. Him and dacky might have enjoyed nights out but I wasn’t enjoying working overtime and travelling for hours to watch his lethargic overweight ass struggle as Southend battered us. The night in Manchester after we got promoted he talked like the season was done . There was a league title at stake plus other little comments and his attitude confirmed the holiday mentality with the we best do abit. He was a good player for us as is Dack and I’m sure they arnt the only ones but it just annoys me when they have all summer to have fun with there massive bank balances and can’t be 100 % committed during the season. The start to the league one campaign was abysmal and there coming in with the same body fat as me and playing with hangovers. I didnt think he came across well at all7 points

Play like that and not win...What a load of tosh. We just cant win games of football regularly enough to win promotion....Nothing but another wer going for the top 6 but in reality 14th or 15th6 points

14th -as near to the bottom 3 as the top 6. The Mowbray equalibrium. At least we got in the top 6 once this year!6 points

Just finished listening to this, and it reaffirms to me exactly why I won't be kissing Venky's feet after a few good years under Mowbray. The fact Coyle was even appointed, let alone kept on for so long is an absolute disgrace, and just shows to me that we are always one decision away from everything collapsing again.6 points

The good managers sign and select players who make minimal mistakes and optimise opportunities. Mowbray signs them, sells them, selects them, motivates them and organises them and therefore the buck well and truly stops with him.5 points

With Trybull looking the type to sit in the holding role and spread the ball, Holtby a bit further forward doing what he does and then Rothwell driving on. That midfield three will be our best by a long stretch.5 points

Honestly admire your optimism, Paul, but you sound very much like Mowbray! ‘Play like that every week and we’ll be there or thereabouts.’ Firstly, we still lost, and second, we won’t play like that every week - see Cardiff and Forest.5 points

Pretty impressed by what I've seen and I'm excited about the season. That isn't sarcasm!5 points

In reality, the game was probably lost when he selected Evans and Johnson together again. The new Evans and Smallwood. We look to have some decent players, just need the manager to draw it all together. Only six games in and in a Mowbray death spiral already. Probably last a couple more games then when it looks like we'll have to sack him we'll unexpectedly pull out a couple of wins.5 points

Mowbray's hopeless. When will fans realise we're going nowhere as long as he's at the club?5 points

Those predicting a high scoring game - I just cannot see it. They’ve scored 3 and conceded just the once in 6 games. Going to be a tough nut to crack at the back.5 points

I can think of lots of candidates from the Decade of Decay who could be used as the Guy. Or maybe the lot of them.5 points

I just want to see him/us have a real go at it. Said the same last season but even more so now they've nothing to lose, if you're going to land in midtable anyway at least do so after trying to get into the top 6 not just trying to tread water and hope for a marginal gain. If we fall short we fall short but enough of the self preservation stuff please.5 points

I genuinely believe we have the squad to get playoffs this season. I just think with Mowbray in charge we cannot possibly get there.5 points

Not getting why anyone thought that was a terrific performance or we dominated play at all. Yes, you could argue we were a bit unlucky to go in at HT 2-1 down but I thought we were really disappointing second half, especially after going 3-1 down and only a really good save from Kaminsky and Watford making a hash of a simple chance prevented a 5-1 defeat. Even if Armstrong had scored the soft penalty we were gifted we'd still have been 2-3 down! Holtby had a good game, Brereton looked a bit more like the player he did in the first few games and I thought both full backs played quite well. Elliot had a promising first half before fading out of the game completely in the second. Against that our new keeper cost us a goal with an appalling bit of keeping, both centre halves were poor and our big money acquisition in that position has only lasted two and a half games. Evans is an absolute embarrassment to professional football yet the manager keeps picking him (which in general is actually our biggest problem). Armstrong was atrocious, not for the first time this season, and playing with Evans makes Johnson look a poor player. As one or two other posters have said, this squad just don't have a winning mentality and it probably stems from the manager downwards. When Dolan came on he was drawing three Watford players to him so if the rest of the team were that bothered about getting back in the game they'd have been making themselves available to Dolan and then quickly switching play to take advantage of the space created. Instead we couldn't be bothered and left him to try and win a throw. I thought overall it was dire. If that's a good night I'd hate to see a bad one.4 points

Having seen how we defended I don't think anyone could argue that we were set up right.4 points

You can't defend like that, as a collective unit or as individuals and expect a play off push. We conceded 3 goals and watford had 2 really good chances to score again (one put wide and Kaminski making a class save)4 points

Trybull did more in 15 mins than Evans in his previous 150m. With Evans its like playing with 10men.4 points

Own goal, missed penalty, injury to Ayala - just not our day today. The positive - we dominated in every department against one of the best teams in the division. The negative - domination counts for nothing if we don't get the 3 points. Feel really frustrated tonight, but I'm chalking it up to an unstable team at the minute. Elliott, Trybull, and Douglas all need to come into the first 11 on Saturday.4 points

I've never been a fan of Brereton but you see when he's off we struggle for an out ball.4 points

come on tony, there is nothing left for you here, time for another challenge4 points

Armstrong needs to get his head out of his arse. Scores a few worldies and people think he’s prem quality. Far from it.4 points

If you persist in missing excellent chances when dominating possession it always ends in defeat it’s consistent with Rovers. Very disappointing to be 3-1 down here4 points

He's got ability but he has never matured. He still defends like a 21 year old rather than a 26 year old.4 points

Jesus its so depressing on here. People cream themselves over Elliott signing but sulk when he plays over Dolan. Bell will be playing because, well look how much football Douglas has played in the past year, he will be starting before Bell before long.4 points
-
Feb 2001 apparently. 1-0, Marcus Bent. The play-off semi final second leg in 1989 felt like a win. 1-1 after extra time after a 0-0 first leg so through on away goals. I won’t mention the final though.4 points

Dolan should not be dropped. He isn't going to embarrass the full backs every week, but when does Brereton ever do that on the other flank? Tyrhys has shown he can make something happen out of nothing, and does the easy stuff that goes unnoticed, i.e. simple passes in the image above, very well. I for one hope that if any of the wingers are dropped tonight, it is Brereton.4 points

Brereton up top?!? Have people learnt nothing. He's not a goalscorer, he can't hold it up or anything?4 points

Considering Kevin Gallagher still doesn’t even though he’s lived here for nearly 30 years and Andy Bayes tees every question to him with ‘Rovers...’, I like this young lad and his very hip haircut.4 points
