Notwithstanding Devonian sensibilities and JDT speaking in his 4th language, I am pretty clear the message is Rovers have different physical demands and fitness standards.

English could be JDT's 5th language thinking about it...

It made me laugh when they were so baffled by the prospect that we'd have higher standards of fitness and conditioning than they would.

"We've just won the league"

No, you just won division three. We've spent the last two years at the top end of the division above.

Strange bunch.

Who else have we had from Plymouth over the years? Can't think of anyone.

By the way , having read that Morrison book, Tommy Tynan sounds like an aggro merchant. Never saw him play but he always seemed to score against us

Up until now at least, both Ennis and Telalovic have been an utter waste of time, money and effort.

We needed players who could slot straight in. We got the opposite.

The problem is that type of player costs money and we don't have any. I really don't think we could have signed a player who could get straight into the team for the reputed £200k they both cost us.

Surely we could have got someone on a free - from the lower leagues, abroad, an out of contract - at least someone who isn't a crock or seemingly straight off Pleasington.

As it stands, they're both a waste of time, as evidenced by Tomasson's refusal to play them.

The Ennis one looks a bit odd, he looked ok in the bits he has played for us, I would say much better than Leonard. I wonder are there add-ons to the deal that they are afraid of activating while they work out if his fitness is going to be an insurmountable problem.

You get what you pay for and quality doesn't come cheap. Both Ennis and Telalavic were both gambles which may yet pay off.

Tomasson has been quoted about Ennis in the LT and to me again its just a rehash of previous quotes. Obviously no one will really be drilled down on it.

I get that we havent got a pot to piss in but if his issues are so severe that months after recovering from injury, 20 minutes at the end of a game is beyond him, then surely it goes down as a bad error on behalf of those who tested him and then who signed him.

And from the managers perspective, how is he going to get any fitter and sharper when repeatedly not featuring, how will that cycle ever break? Our main striker is out, our only 2 options are a makeshift winger up top and a young lad not ready for regular starts amidst the cut and thrust of the Championship. Im struggling to accept that someone who did well in League 1 (different story with Telalovic) has less ability currently to play at this level compared to the alternatives, and as I said he wont get sharper sat around not even building up minutes in sub appearances up until the point where he can maybe do an hour. Is there an application issue? Is his body fat to high? Is there a bit of a fall out?

Jordan Rhodes -

Only half joking. Short term, free transfer.

9 goals in 10 matches for Blackpool. He would have buried many of the sitters we have missed this season.

Started 19 league games in 2022/23 (subbed off in all 19), 13 starts in 21/22 (subbed off in 12).

*Disclaimer, lies, damn lies and all that. Bit more meat on the bones. He played more than 70 minutes 11 times in 22/23 league games. 12 times in 21/22.

Ennis was handed a 4 year contract so that is a big financial commitment in itself even though he won't be on big wonga, hopefully.

To do that then never use him is looking increasingly odd as time goes on.

If Ennis was seen as a risk or a gamble, and they weren't sure about him, then why hand him a 4-year contract? Like  alot of stuff at Ewood it doesn't make sense.

As it stands, he's a waste of a wage and a place in the squad and is offering nothing of value to the club or the team whatsoever.

So far, Broughton's solution to the striker problem has turned up Hirst, Ennis and Telelovic (sp?). This is where the problem lies

It’s the 4 year contract that puzzles me.

If his wage is really low then the length of the contract isnt too bad, as seems to follow a pattern with other recent long term deals under Broughton. If he is on 15k a week or something daft then it seems daft considering his current playing time!

Agree with other posters its odd he isnt starting games. Feels a bit like Brereton in his first couple of seasons just never played or got 5 mins at the end of games we were losing.

The guy was clearly coveted and scouted given how early we signed him so whats changed?

Not like Brereton at all. He was fit but not picked because in his first 2 years he was hopeless.

Ennis simply isn't fit and has an alarming injury history.

We are told Ennis was 'sought after'.

I would not think his wage is 'really low'.

IMO, factoring in employers' NI which is 13/14%, likely cost to Rovers over 4 years will be in the £2.4million to £3.6million range.  At this time, it's looking like big money down the sh1tter.
