Tony Mowbray Discussion

Something that Mowbray's backers like to say is that he has turned the club around but from what I can see the same problems remain that were here when he took over. We still have disinterested owners (not his fault granted), when Mowbray goes we will again be without a CEO as I don't see Waggott staying long after Mowbray, we have no football brain at boardroom level (which has given Mowbray a completely free reigned to do anything with no question asked), we have half a squad out of contract in the summer and very few assets to sell on.

Behind the scenes the club is rotten and needs a complete revamp. Get rid of Mowbray, Waggott, Venus and Pasha. Get in a Director of Football (and put him on the board) who is in charge of overseeing football operations at boardroom level and also responsible for recruiting a new manager and his coaching staff. Get in a CEO by doing a proper interviewing process (although who is doing the interviewing is another worrying question) and appoint someone with no connections to anyone at the club.

Do that and then we might resemble a proper football club. But that is one heck of a challenge to do over 1 summer especially with the massive squad overhaul we are likely to see and it is also a damning indictment of the owners, Mowbray, Waggott, Venus, Pasha that all this needs to be done immediately. This is what happens when a manager basically gets a free reign for 4 years and it must never be allowed to happen again.

It's ten years now and things have simply, lurched from one disaster to another. No sign of things getting any better, any time soon and given that we have an extra zero added to the debt and we are at least one division lower for now, the future looks increasingly bleak.

It was from here and then 1 individual said he had heard the same and he's not associated with BRFCs so it's hardly spread.

It was yourself that posted something on Twitter that made out that it was gospel, except someone has now added 3pm to it. I don't see what people gain from it.

EDIT: Sorry, just seen the tweet where you also mentioned 3pm. As far as I'm aware, there was no mention of 3pm from the two users that 'broke' the rumour.

Agreed, somebody like say, John Williams & Tom Finn would be great....oh, wait a minute!

He's only got to keep quiet for a couple of days. Then by Thursday people will have calmed down and attention will turn to Saturday.

There will be folk then saying we can't or shouldn't axe him a day or two before a game, let's see how Cardiff goes FFS.

Maybe he'll get lucky and we'll get a "positive result" at Cardiff after their smashing yesterday. If we do he'll be secure for a while longer without serious scrutiny.

I wonder if he'll be chartering another £30,000 private flight down to Cardiff for this one?

Just imagine the vacuum down at Ewood after a defeat. Not a single person on the payroll will say a word against St Tony. Not even the CEO.

All happy to take home their good wages including our merchandise and ticket money but not rock the boat at happy camp Ewood.

He's not even worthy of the CEO job title. Got the job through his mate and can't do it properly, either because he won't upset his mate or the owners don't give him the power.

Absolutely. A desperate need to be ITK just causes further frustration.

Rumours are rumours mate 😂.

As I've stated I'm not ITK at all, people who have contacts have stated something is potentially going on.

You'd much rather rumours were posted than not at all.

At least have the decency to please show where they have come from then.

Must get some badge on Twitter for circulating rumours on there.

Same for hounding journalists about 'x player' whenever someone is mentioned in here.

I've heard Damien Johnson is going to be announced at 5pm, which is just after Mowbray is meant to be canned. We're also looking to bring back Jordan Rhodes in the summer. All from a friend that I know that works within the scouting team. (Crack away lads. Completely made up but feel free to get everyone worked up about it).

as soon as you do that people stop telling you info, sometimes you have to take it at face value things can be told in good faith and decisions can change

I just think that such supposed "rumours" without even the slightest clue as to where they have come from aside from the word "people" is beyond worthless and more importantly at this stage, provocative.

That would be some appointment but he'd never come to this basket case of a club!

I keep seeing people say things like this on social media and just have to ask, why?

Any manager who has seen Mowbray plod on for 4 years without a hint of pressure, decent backing and never having to sell his best players would want some of that.

What manager wouldn't want that? Hell, If you play your cards right you can even employ your boss.

Whenever the manager job comes up, I think there would be loads of interest, possibily from people we didn't think would be attainable.

Of course who venkys and there "advisors" actually go for is a different story.

As I said, 'Think he'll be gone by 3.00 pm tomorrow. Maybe Waggott too - some serious noise'.

My understanding is Waggott is now backed into a corner.

IMO, a racing certainty - if only I could get a feckin bet upon this happening.

Ahhhh so this is the source of the “rumour” Good old Mercer, knowing his track record the announcement at 3PM today will be a new contract for Tony 😂
